A message from Kara:

Why should you call Kritter Kare? Never mind that we’re the best overall value (well, keep it in mind!)– a great deal of our lives, personal, professional, and volunteer, is centered around animals.

All of our kids have four paws (ok, there are some feathers and fins, too). We used to plan our time away from them using kennels - a path that was always stressful on everyone in the family, pricey, and usually logistically challenging and inconvenient. One glorious day a pet sitter introduced herself to us and our family and the rest, as they say, is history in the making! Add to that the increased risk of kennel cough, knowing my "kids" were spending most of their time in an unfamiliar (not to mention loud) environment, and concerns over the level of supervision and attention they would receive, especially on weekends, holidays, and outside of regular working hours, and... well, let's just say I wouldn't want to be in that position if roles were reversed!

We all know that our pets are part of our family, and there is some anxiety and stress for everyone when we’re forced to be apart from one another. Kritter Kare strives to remove a lot of that stress and complexity for everyone in the family. We make daily visits to your home as often as you would like, and for just $20 per visit (no hidden costs, I promise - you won’t find a better deal, and we encourage you to shop around and compare prices, services, and credentials!) we feed, exercise, play, clean litter boxes or cages, administer medications, and do just about anything else you would like - in an environment and on a schedule everyone is used to. We will also stay overnight with your pet for $50 per night, which includes the evening and morning visits.

If you have a special needs pet (for example, one that requires insulin shots, has epilepsy, or other medical or behavioral issues), give me a call - these family members are who we specialize in!

I (Kara) have a wonderful family, ranging from fish to birds to cats to dogs, including 2 Search and Rescue dogs and an explosives dog. Our love for animals, as well as our professionalism and joy of working with them will come through loud and clear. I am so fortunate to have a job that I truly love to wake up to, and I want all of our clients (human and animal) to truly be at ease as much as possible when they are forced to be apart.

We love the work, but we do take our business seriously. We’re insured and bonded, and we are constantly working on our own professional development. I am a charter member of the Ambassador's Bureau for Pet Sitters International, an organization that was founded in 1994 to promote, support and recognize excellence in pet sitting. I am also an American Red Cross Pet First Aid Instructor - I take great pride in having brought this class to our area and for being able to teach pet owners (and other pet sitters) pet first aid!

In summary, your pets have less stress, get to stay in a familiar environment and on their schedules, and get to be pampered by us. You save a ton of money, avoid a lot of the logistical challenges, and have someone you can trust to watch your pets and your home.
